Today (Sunday 12th September 2004) one of our clients has had an article published about his site in The Observer Magazine.

The client www.FindAParentOrChild.co.uk came to us in May 2004 looking for help. While the website was up and running there were some serious changes that needed to be made. Andrew Baillie felt he was hitting a dead end. He came up with the concept of the website, and managed to learn a great deal about website design to get his vision off the ground, but needed help with the development and database side.

We have worked very closely with Andrew to ensure his website works just the way he wants.

Since we started working on www.FindAParentOrChild.co.uk several changes have been made to the website.

Editing users profiles.
Adding and updating photos.
Email alerts to users.
Improved searching of profiles.
Accepting payments online from credit cards.
Reliability and speed.

After we had completed a set of upgrades to www.FindAParentOrChild.co.uk Andrew discovered his website was to be featured in The Observer Magazine. He host at that time was put off by the high levels of traffic the site would attract so he asked us for a solution. We promptly moves his website over to one of our servers and explained in lay mans terms the levels of traffic expected and how we can cope with them.

Once the website was on our servers we proceeded with the next level of upgrades, answering any questing and keeping in contact all the way.

www.FindAParentOrChild.co.uk is written in PHP and has a MySQL backend. While the static pages are HTML. The E-Commerce payment provider is WorldPay.

The web server is Apache 2 and is running on the Linux operating system.
